Rules for the Team Fantasy Football
How this league works?
This league is a different kind of league for people who follows the NFL/NCAAF league and plays Fantasy Football.
This league is not focused on the performance of the players counting yards, touchdowns, passes, sacks or drops. This league is based on the points scored by the teams in their games week after week.
When does the draft take place?
As the previous sections says, it's based on the points the teams score, so no draft happens for this league (sorry guys)
What do I have to do to play a league here?
This is basically what you have to do:
- Create an account here if you don't have an account or sign in here if you have it
- Create a league.
- Ask your friends to registrate to the website.
- Invite all the participants to the league.
- Inform every week the final score you think is going to be at the end of every game (you can set every score until the game starts).
Which are the scoring criteria?
There are several criteria to obtain points. For every score, this is what is going to be calculated comparing it to the forecast you have done. All the calculations together will be the final score for the player
- If you guessed the right score, that's 50 points (big price).
- If you guessed correctly what team won the game you obtain 6 points.
- The difference between the local score and visitor scores for both actual score and forecast is going to be calculated. These two differences are going to be subtracted one from the other and this outcome is going to be subtracted from 10 points. That will be the score you obtain for than criteria.
- The difference between the actual local's score and its forecast subtracting this figure to 10.
- The difference between the actual visitor's score and its forecast subtracting this figure to 10.
At the end of the week, all the points for all the games will be sum up and that will be the final score for the week.
Here an example:
The game San Francisco 49ers @ Dallas Cowboys finished 41-17 and the forecast was 35-14. The calculations to do are:
- The forecast about the final score was not right. That's 0 points (if you guess it right the amount of points obtained is 50).
- The forecast was right about who won. That's 6 points (if not the amount of points obtained is 0).
- The difference between 41 and 17 is 24 and between 35 and 14 is 21. Once we have this subtract one from the other and obtain 3 (24-21) so the points obtained for this criteria is 10-3, which is 7 points.
- The difference between local's score (41) and its forecast (35) is 6. Once we have this value we'll do 10-6, which is 4 points.
- The difference between visitor's score (17) and its forecast (14) is 3. Once we have this value we'll do 10-3, which is 7 points.
- After this we sum up all the amounts and it's 6+7+4+7 and the final amount of points for this game is 24 points.
Who wins?
Wins the team which has the biggest amount of points at the end of the fantasy league.
What happens if there is a tie?
There are three tie breaks to decide who is the winner, respecting this order:
- Number of games where the forecast is the exact score for both teams.
- Number of games where the forecast got the winner and the difference between the actual score and the forecast for the winner is less than 5 points.
- Number of games where the forecast got the winner and the difference between the actual score and the forecast for both teams is less than 5 points in both cases.
